This was our 18-week ultrasound. We were hoping for a preview of Baby's face but you can see Baby playing camera shy in this pic. It's pretty creepy to see right through his/her head and ribcage! =) BTW, that bright spot along the upper arm is Baby's humerus.
A view of skinny butt, little legs and part of the umbilical cord here... I felt Baby moving for the first time during this ultrasound! Actually it might have been before that, but since so many people had told me what it was going to feel like, I could have imagined it many times before. During the US I felt the little flutter and saw Baby kick all at the same time. So now I know!
Okay, I don't think this picture does my belly justice. It looks a lot bigger from my vantage point (looking down on it =P), and it definitely feels a lot bigger... especially when I try to wear anything other than sweats or yoga pants. Last week my tummy felt really tight -- like it couldn't possibly expand any more, after eating just a normal-sized meal, and it was kinda hard to breathe. Then I woke up one morning with a bigger belly, and viola! much better. I know I'm gonna get a whole lot bigger before this is over, but it still surprises me everytime I look down and see how much I stick out now. I wonder if I'll be able to balance my book and water glass on my stomach someday...?
The exciting news is we're halfway to babytime!
